Overseas Doctoral Scholarship
The AIMS Overseas Doctoral Scholarship supports selected candidates undertaking eligible PhD study at an international university placed within the top 200 of the QS World University Rankings under the ranking edition specified for the award.
The programme is primarily a maintenance and doctoral-support scholarship. Tuition, bench fees, desk fees, visa charges, travel, research costs, insurance, spouse support, and extensions are covered only where the signed award expressly includes them.
Award-specific support for eligible PhD study at a qualifying top-200 QS university. The standard award framework may provide maintenance support, limited medical-insurance reimbursement, progress-based renewal, and defined academic or service obligations.
A planned outreach route to identify talented learners in underserved communities and connect them with application support and approved educational opportunities.

Scholar journey
Clear support for an international doctoral pathway
Define support clearly, document exclusions, monitor progress, approve changes in writing, and give the host institution a reliable verification route.
An AIMS scholar secured admission to an international PhD programme and received a multi-year sponsorship offer focused on maintenance support. The award connected the maintenance level to host-country requirements, allowed limited medical-insurance reimbursement, and made future funding dependent on satisfactory academic progress.
The document was equally clear about exclusions and responsibilities. Tuition and institutional desk charges were not automatically covered, family support depended on the written award, and changes to the university or programme required prior approval. The scholar was also expected to contribute through academic or service activity under the accepted terms.
This privacy-protected example demonstrates the AIMS approach: define support clearly, document exclusions, monitor progress, approve changes in writing, and give the host institution a reliable verification route.
Individual identity, university, reference number, dates, and personal financial information are intentionally omitted.
